The incident happened around 2:30 p.m. on November 4, 2021, many people observed smoke and fire coming from the 3rd floor room of the motel at 83 Dong Quoc Binh Street, Ngo Quyen District.
Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, Hai Phong City Police, dispatched dozens of soldiers and fire trucks to the scene.
The police put out the fire, broke the door of the room, rescued the trapped young man, and took him to the emergency room at Hai Phong Medical University Hospital.
The victim is Nguyen Duy Hoan, 29 years old, residing at 92 Quang Trung Street, Hong Bang District.
Based on signs at the scene there was gasoline vapor, the door was locked, Hoan himself showed signs of hallucinating suspected of using stimulants, the investigative agency determined that Hoa self-ignited.
