Paying fines for illegal gold mining

The man named Pham Van Phong, 31 years old, was administratively fined and forced to return the proceeds from illegal gold mining.

This person was asked to pay nearly 840 million VND for illegal gold mining in Duc Trong district, Lam Dong province, Vietnam.

Phong was fined 200 million dong by Lam Dong government and forced to pay more than 637 million dong under Clause 65, Article 1 of the Amended Law; supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Handling of Administrative Violations 2020.

This person is required to renovate and restore the environment of the mining area within 60 days.

Duc Trong district police discovered that Phong was hired by many people to use machinery and equipment to exploit gold ore even though he did not have a mining license.

The authorities made a record of seizing many exhibits.
