Vietnam’s Hanoi city police said they have decided to temporarily detain 18 people. They are suspected of being involved in multiple violations. The incidents occurred at the Monaza Karaoke establishment owned by Tuan “Gom”.
📌 Development of the incident
On the night of October 18, 2025, the authorities coordinated to inspect the Monaza Karaoke establishment at 194 Tran Duy Hung, Yen Hoa Ward, Hanoi. At the time of the inspection, 11 singing rooms were in operation; of which 4 rooms were found to be using “laughing gas”.
During the inspection, the police discovered a female employee and 4 guests tested positive for drugs. The authorities seized 83 N₂O gas cylinders. A total of 169 people were brought to the headquarters for clarification.

According to the investigation documents, a group of 18 people — including the owner, manager, and staff — were detained for investigation of the following acts: trading in prohibited goods, organizing illegal drug use, and gambling.

The discovery of laughing gas, drugs, and suspected gambling organization — in a karaoke bar — shows that activities at Monaza have signs of serious violations of the law.
